My experience with Dr. Ghomi was LIFE CHANGING! 5 years of torture with an issue after my hysterectomy that other Doctors could not identify and had written me off as a lost cause. I was skeptical because I saw the great reviews and I thought it was too good to be true but that quickly changed during our first consult. Dr. Ghomi had me at “you are not crazy and its not all in your head”. Dr. Ghomi is very knowledgeable, kind, and shows interest in your situation. He is not a turn and burn Doctor like the terrible ones I tried over the years to no resolve. Dr. Ghomi pin pointed the problem and went in and fixed it! I am forever grateful i found him and he took my case!! Jenny and Cindy ROCK!!! the staff is so sweet and understanding. Very efficient in getting you everything you need. The building is new and very clean. I 1000% recommend him!!

I am so grateful that I found Dr. Ghomi. I had a hysterectomy and excision of endometriosis two months ago. I am 46 yrs old with stage 4 Endo. Like so many other woman suffering with endometriosis I was misdiagnosed for YEARS. Dr. Ghomi knew exactly what to do. He is a true expert in his field. I had many consults with other surgeons. I chose Dr. Ghomi bc he spent a lot of time with me. He is kind, caring, and patient. He answered all of my questions thoroughly & I never felt rushed by him. I would also like to mention that his staff is amazing. Jenni and Cindy are so nice to deal with. They have been extremely helpful throughout my entire experience with Dr. Ghomi. I am so happy to say that I am already feeling better. The surgery that Dr.Ghomi performed was exactly what I needed. I am so thankful that I found Dr. Ghomi .

Doctor Ghomi is truly an exceptional doctor and surgeon. He is incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. I recently underwent a laparoscopic myectomy under his care and the results were outstanding. I experienced minimal discomfort and recovery was very easy. He really took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, address all my concerns, and offer support through the entire process. I’m so grateful to Doctor Ghomi for his exceptional care, and I truly recommend him to anyone seeking top tier medical care. He’s the absolute best!!

Dr. Ghomi is an expert at Essure coil removal! One of the few doctors who can perform this surgery. After having the surgery, my quality of life has improved. I am free of anxiety and worry because of Dr. Ghomi. He is very knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. I completely recommend him and his staff.

He is an amazing doctor so much so that I wish I had met him earlier. I had the worst case of endo, pcos and adenomyosis, which led to extreme pain and nobody would take me seriously for almost 3.5 years. Dr. Ghomi performed a total hysterectomy on me and its been 2 months and I have never felt better. I feel like I have been brought back to living a normal life. I can advise anyone to start looking answers here with doctor Ali ghomi with a 100% trust!

Sharing my FABULOUS experience with Nook doctor Dr. Ali Ghomi out of St Joseph’s Hospital in Wayne NJ. I cannot be more grateful for Dr. Ghomi. I was diagnosed in 2010 with endometriosis after my gyno found a large endometrioma on my left ovary which she unfortunately ablated. I was given birth control and for years have had a throbbing pain on my left side that I was told is “just endo, it is what it is.” I am getting married this fall and have been stressing over family planning with this diagnosis. My first appointment with Dr. Ghomi absolutely validated ten years of relentless pain and it was SO therapeutic to finally have someone listen, understand, and believe all of my symptoms. I had a robotic excision on March 21st where he was able to remove stage 4 endo covering the back of my uterus. Everything was explained to me thoroughly and at our follow up appointment he shared pictures and answered any and all questions. Thanks to Dr Ghomi I feel more confident going into my fertility journey, and I truly feel like I have a new lease on life.

It’ll be a long road ahead but, Dr. Ghomi and his team made this experience a pleasant one. Dr. Ghomi is extremely caring and Im glad to have been taken care of by him.

I’m sincerely forever grateful I found Dr. Ghomi. After years of suffering in silence from endometriosis and going to the ER several times and getting fobbed off by different doctors and getting multiple ultrasounds done, nothing was ever taken seriously. My symptoms were dismissed and written off as dysmenorrhea, etc. I had a consultation with Dr. Ghomi and right away I felt reassured and safe in my decision to go through with surgery. He listened to me and treated me like a human being and not just another patient or another number. He is such a kind and caring doctor who actually listens to your story and provides timely treatment. On July 20, 2023, I had surgery to remove endometriomas and all other endo, but my surgery ended up being way more complex than we anticipated as my uterus was densely adhered to the rectum, stricture kinking of both ureters, retroperitoneal fibrosis, dense adhesions in multiple areas, more ovarian endometriomas than what was previously seen on ultrasound, etc. I have Stage 4 Endometriosis. Dr. Ghomi is an extremely skillful surgeon and was able to get it all out and free my frozen pelvis and saved my fertility!

I highly recommend Dr Gohmi ! I was looking for a Dr who could skillfully remove the Essure device. We believe many of my health issues were because of Essure and scheduled a meeting with Dr Gohmi (we live an hour away). He is a kind, brilliant and skilled surgeon who explained the robot-assisted procedure in great detail and made my husband and I feel much better about our decision. Now 8 weeks post-op, my stomach issues we attributed to Essure that have stumped both my ob-gyn and gastroenterologist have completely gone away. A million thank you’s to Dr Gohmi and to his staff who were also very, very kind! You are the best!

I cannot express how thankful I am to have found such a wonderful doctor. Dr.Ghomi and his amazing staff specifically Jenny and Cindy where absolutely amazing, kind, professional and compassionate. Dr.Ghomi is incredibly knowledgeable and guided me through all the details of my robotic myomectomy. I am three weeks post op and feel amazing and back to my old self. I would highly recommend Dr Ghomi! Thank you again to Dr.Ghomi and the entire team!

Dr Ghomi is the absolute BEST!! I was referred to him by my reproductive doctor to remove a very large Fibroid that was causing me alot of pain and discomfort. This was my first surgery and he made me feel at ease and comfortable every step of the way! My surgery was a success despite how complex it was to remove my cantaloupe size fibroid. I was able to go home the same day and my recovery has been great! I would highly recommend Dr Ghomi! He is trustworthy, knowledgeable and genuine. He is truly a blessing and has helped me to regain my life back! I also want to highlight his wonderful staff members Jenny & Cindy! Both ladies were truly a pleasure and a great asset to his Team!

I would like to express immense gratitude to Dr Ghomi. For so long I lived with painful discomfort, which many women know very well. I have sought medical advice on this issue many times, but never found a doctor I trusted enough to go through surgery. That was until I met Dr. Ghomi. The information about Dr Ghomi’s extensive experience in urological and gynecological procedures and his medical education PLUS his engineering degree impressed and convinced me. With Dr Ghomi I went through a surgical procedure and it quickly gave me back the normalcy and comfort of everyday life. I am in my 80s and my biggest regrets are that I didn’t meet this brilliant doctor earlier and was suffering for so long.

Dr Ghomi did my tubal ligation reversal in June of 2021. I am now holding my four week old daughter thanks to him. The surgery went amazing, having both tubes completely open and flowing. His bedside manor is excellent as well. Very reassuring and willing to answer any and all questions. Thank you Dr Ghomi for my miracle baby!!

Dr. Ghomi is hands down the best of the best. I was diagnosed with stage four endometriosis at 17, by the age of 21 I needed my left ovary and tube removed. My Dr. In Olean refured me to Dr. Ghomi. Years later the right side went and it was back to Ghomi. But since that day six years ago I have not had a single pain since. I truly don’t know where I would be today if my Dr. Had not refured me to Dr. Ghomi. Very professional Dr. Not once as a young woman did I feel uncomfortable or uncertain of what was going on. Dr. Ghomi and his staff are very informative. I will admit the first time I saw the robotic surgery device I freaked out a little but they made sure I was calm and comfortable before the procedure was even started. Also I had a weekly checkup until I was completely healed. I recommend any of my female friends with gynocologic issues to Dr. Ghomi. I’d know they’re in good hands. Dr. Ghomi is worth every star. Thank you God and Dr. Ghomi, it’s going on 7 years pain free!

On 9/12/2022, Dr Ghomi operated and rid me of the 5 gigantic fibroids that had been quite literally ruining my quality of life for years .( Causing heavy periods, heavy bleeding between periods, pain, fatigue, anemia, listlessness etc). 2 weeks post op, I feel better than I have in years. Dr Ghomi is absolutely just an excellent physician. I would (and do) recommend him to anyone because I honestly feel he is the type of doctor who cares for each and every single patient. He is calm, kind, patient with my millions of questions and very respectful. Likewise his staff features a team of wonderful professionals, in particular Jenny, who assists him, and the lady who handles the referrals and phones Lastly, this doctor and his staff have a sensitivity that is very rare and heartfelt. Professionalism is one thing, they have that in abundance, but what makes this office a step above others is they also have is a willingness to make each woman feel as if her health, fertility, organs etc are all important and valuable. Because of this they make decisions tailored to the individual. (Least you think this is standard, trust me it isn’t. Prior to finding this doctor, I had no less than 5 doctors tell me that due to my age and race a total hysterectomy was the only answer). Dr. Ghomi took the time and sat with me and my spouse and explained 3 different options, including a conservative option that I had never even been told about. So if you have been through the ringer, are tired of being treated like cattle or a statistic, this is the doctor for you. Highly, highly recommend.

I finally went into menopause at 53 years old, so everyone thought my fibroids (which always caused heavy bleeding) would shrink and be done, well they did shrink, a little, but bleeding was everyday not monthly like a period just a constant drip everyday. Waiting for it to go away never happened. My OBGYN retired from surgery and only did office visits, and since I already had a bladder sling, I did not want to ruin that so I started researching doctors, but due to covid alot were not seeing new patients. It was difficult finding a doctor. I was at my cardiologist office and was discussing this issue and she put me in touch with a doctor, whom I didn’t care for much, but the best thing he did was refer me to Dr. Ghomi. Dr. Ghomi being a urology gyno, I was in good hands, I met with him and scheduled a complete laproscopic hysterectomy. Since it was 6 months since my last D&C he did another biopsy just in case…. Let me tell you completely pain free, like I asked did you get it? Never experienced a pain free biopsy. Day of surgery came, after having 2 C-sections and a hernia surgery already, I was expecting alot of the gas pain you get. I HAD NONE, I have to say this surgery was so PAINLESS, I was sore, but no gas and no pain. Never took a oxycodone, only a ibuprofen and that was maybe for 2 days. I will recommend him to anyone who asks. Awesome Doc and his staff is very very kind and helpful. I really can’t say enough about him. He is great!!!!

Two years ago Dr Ghomi removed my pelvic mesh. I was in such pain and didn’t know that the mesh does not last forever, even though I had the best of the best put it in. I have nothing but praise for his services! He is a wonderful, compassionate man and a brilliant doctor.

I had problem with Essure permanent birth control for few years. I had so many health complications. I knew that my body was not the same during the years and was getting worse. I went to different doctors and never find anything and the cause of my health issue. I started searching for complications of Essure and saw sooo many bad story about women having the same symptoms. I immediately I knew that my problem was the Essure. I search for a Dr. In NJ to remove Essure device and I found Dr. Ghomi and he and the staff were awesome they explain everything and how the surgery was going to be done. The day of my surgery I was nervous. I remember having those sick symptoms in my body and remember the same day of my surgery I felt another person. Its been almost 2 weeks of my surgery and I feel great after having Essure device out of my body. Thank you so much Dr. Ghomi !!! I will definitely recommend you!!!! You are great!!! You change my life!!!

Dr. Ghomi is one of the BEST doctors I ever encountered. I am so happy to have finally found a doctor who took my issues and concerns I’ve been facing with my menstrual seriously and was ready to take action on healing me. For many years I’ve been struggling with very bad menstrual and been told it was the cause of fibroids. I had surgery to remove them which turned out to be polyps. I then experienced more pains and heavy bleeding after the surgery. At this point I was determined to find out what was causing all the pain that I’ve been going through, even after having surgery that was supposed to resolve my issues. After many searches to find the right doctor, I came across Dr. Ghomi’s site and read reviews that sounded similar to what I was facing. He listened to all of my concerns and was very understanding and provided me with the best solutions on how to help me. I went for an MRI and was found to have Stage III Endometriosis and Adenomyosis. So many doctors are misdiagnosing patients and pointing their findings as fibroids and suggesting taking birth control to resolve the issues. On March 18 I had surgery to remove both the Endo and Adeno. Post surgery, Dr Ghomi made me feel more confident that my menstrual cycle will be pain free. Thank you Dr Ghomi and your wonderful staff for making my surgery and recovery stress-free and for making my life pain-free. I highly recommend Dr Ghomi.

I recently had a robotic hysterectomy with Dr. Ghomi, who was recommended to me by my OBGYN. Before visiting with Dr. Ghomi, I researched eight other specialists, but none compared to Dr. Ghomi. From my first visit with him, I knew I could trust him with my health. Dr. Ghomi explained the procedure and made sure I understood what would be happening. His thoughtfulness and knowledge gave me great confidence in his abilities and made me feel safe and comfortable both before and after surgery. During my follow-up appointment, he thoroughly explained all of my test results. While having surgery is no fun, Dr. Ghomi made the process as easy and stress-free as it could possibly have been. If you need a robotic hysterectomy, look no further than Dr. Ghomi! I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Dr. Ali Ghomi is exceptional!! The best of the best!! I had a robotic Hysterectomy in Dec 2021 and I was really apprehensive about the whole thing. But from the time I had my first consultation with Dr. Ghomi to my follow-up visit after the surgery, I felt truly taken care of at each step. I felt totally confident and safe in his hands and care. I knew I was working with the best of the best and knew that there was no other doctor I could trust more. He is not only an amazing and highly reputed surgeon but he is a very empathetic and patient person. He truly and patiently listened to me and answered all my questions putting my anxiety at bay. My surgery was perfect, with no complications, no bleeding and I recovered very fast. I trust Dr. Ghomi with my life and I have recommended him to all my friends and family. He and his staff and jenny are the best and most caring people that I have ever met. The staff and nurses at St Joseph were also exceptional and they really took exceptional care of me post surgery.

I was diagnosed with Endometriosis back in May through another doctor who basically did nothing in my first laparoscopy. After looking for another specialist for a second opinion I luckily found Dr. Ghomi and right away he knew something was wrong. It was the first time that I felt heard and acknowledged. He performed a robotic excision procedure and found a bunch of endometriosis scattered that my previous doctor had missed. With endometriosis, so many doctors aren’t properly trained or equipped to deal with this disease. However, Dr. Ghomi is not one of them. He listened to me, treated me right away, and I’ve honestly had the best experience with him than I’ve ever had with any other doctor. He’s exceptionally well trained and knowledgeable in this area and I 100% recommend him for anyone who is suffering or going through what I went through. This is the first time since being diagnosed that I’ve felt optimistic for the future, thanks to Dr. Ghomi.

Dr. Ghomi is EXCELLENT. As a woman with endometriosis, I’ve been ignored, invalidated, and given substandard care for over 15 years. Dr. Ghomi was not only the first doctor to listen to me, but the first one to take action and make recommendations that significantly improved my quality of life. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking an endometriosis specialist!

Thankful beyond recognition, Dr. Ghomi is the best of the best. I have suffered a lifetime of extreme pain with extremely heavy periods. Dr. Ghomi suspected endometriosis, however discovered in my laparoscopy there was no sign of endo but uterine polyps! He removed them, my recovery was picture perfect and my years of suffering a thing of my past. In 2021 I returned. During an ivf retrieval at a fertility clinic they had nicked a blood vessel and I had a significant internal bleed. It was said that I would need surgery, I IMMEDIATELY requested to be transferred to my surgeon Dr. Ghomi stating he was the only one I trusted to take care of me. When I arrived they stressed Surgery was a last resort. Dr Ghomi and the staff make right decision after right decision and have the patient’s best interest at hand. Fortunately I was able to avoid surgery. But once again was in the hands of 5 star care. I trust Dr. Ghomi with my life, and speak so highly of him to everyone I meet. He is the best of the best, and I am beyond grateful to be in his care.

Dr ghomi is absolutely incredible. I had a hystorectomy due to issues with my period and my only regret was waiting so long. The worst pain in the entire recovery process was nothing compared to the monthly pain I had. Here I am, not even 2 weeks after surgery and feeling back to completely normal. 10/10 recommend dr ghomi and his staff.

Dr. Ghomi is excellent. He is a true professional and expert in his field. He corrected a problem from a previous surgeon and I am grateful. He is very caring and explains everything so you understand. He speaks to you like a person instead of just another patient. I am so glad I found him.

He is the best of the best!!! He helped me have a child that I never thought I would have. My endometriosis was stage 4 and he made it possible with a laparoscopy, he was able to get it all. After having my child, my endometriosis got worse. 2.5 years after having my child we decided on a full hysterectomy and I wouldn’t let anyone else do it but him! Trust him and his medical judgement.

For about the last 5 years I have been complaining to my GYN (female) that there is something wrong, in 2016 I had the copper IUD put in and I assumed the terrible pain that I had from cramps was from that, as I had read that was a side effect. After two years I could not take it anymore and had it removed, I assumed that that would be the end of the ridiculous pain. Nope, it only got worse! I told my GYN and on my yearly appointment she would just recommend putting me back on my hormonal birth control (this is why I went for the copper IUD in the first place, it was hormone free!), I told her my body hates birth control, you name it and I was on it. After 20 years of being on it my body needed a break. I also told my mother during all of these years (who is an RN and WOMAN AND CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN BUFFALO) that I think I have endometriosis and she kept telling me that it cannot be that because it is extremely painful and her friend had it and that could not possibly be that. I thought maybe I was just weak and that I was over reaching. Well, in the middle of the night in February 2020 I was woken up to 12/10 pain and my husband did not know what to do, he recommended the ER but I told him that you don’t go to the ER for a period. Honestly, I am not sure how my kidneys and liver did not shut down from the amount of pills I have taken in the past 5 years. So finally I started to do research and found Dr. Ghomi, I am not going to lie I was slightly uncomfortable with seeing a male- what could he know about periods that my GYN and mother wouldn’t. The moment he started the exam he said that I had a ton of scar tissue and that I would need surgery to remove it. I wanted to cry when I left because everything I have been saying (unheard) for the past 5 years had been confirmed, it was not me, I was NOT over reacting! My appointment was in March, in May I ended up going to the ER for the pain (We were not allowed to do “non essential” surgeries until king Cuomo allowed it again. I wish he could have felt the pain I was in- So, I had the surgery on July 8th and I had to be dropped off at the door, I was scared and completely alone and the staff was sooo so sweet. I wish I could remember the pre-op nurse who held my hand because I was scared. I told everyone please do not make me sterile I do not have kids. They assured me they would only do the clean out and that is all they did. I ended up having to stay in the hospital because we ran into complications (my body not anything from him) and they had to remove my left ovary and tube. When Dr. Ghomi came up the next day he said I had Stage 4 Endometriosis and that if there were a stage 5 I would be that and that I was one of the more extreme cases. He did also confirm that if I had been listened to years ago it would not have gotten this bad. I cannot tell you how much this man has changed my life, I have had a period since and I did have to take anything, no pain. I can’t believe it! Why is no one listening to us when we first complain of pain? I cannot say enough amazing things about this man and his staff, I am forever grateful for him listening to me and not making me feel like I am crazy. I am 39 without kids and now with a hopeful chance at having them. Dr. Ghomi, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I appreciate you more than you can ever imagine.

I went to Dr.Ghomi for a tubal reversal a few years ago. He is an amazing Dr and his staff is fantastic. I always had my questions answered and if I called and left a message the nurse would always call me back in a timely manner.

Great doctor. Explained everything that I would be having done. I had a hysterectomy & I was in/out on the same day as the procedure and healed up wonderfully. My surgery was 5 months ago and my tiny incisions are barely noticeable & healing up great!

Dr. Ghomi is a ROCK STAR! I came to his office after about a year of trying to manage the symptoms of a large fibroid that my OB said was not removable. I did not want to take the options that she offered that left me unable to have children. So i tried to live with my situation. It was becoming clear it was too much of a inconvenience to live with, numerous ER visits and blood transfusions- I needed help. I was in Ghomi’s office for 10 min when he told me he could remove it. His confidence about removing it made me wish I sought out a second opinion sooner. Three months later it was removed. The staff is wonderful and the hospital staff were I had surgery was wonderful. Do your self a favor and just make an appointment.

I have suffered from Endometriosis and more recently diagnosed Adenomyosis, for many years. After having ablation done in Ontario seven years ago, my symptoms began to worsen over the years. By the end of this year, my “endo belly” was pretty consistent, and it looked like I was about seven months pregnant. I am an athletic person, and the pain and inflammation from these two diseases prevented me from enjoying my normal physical activities, as well as affecting my social life. After seeing an excision specialist in Ontario who would not perform surgery, and who’s only solution was to prescribe Lupron and hormonal therapies, I spent many months researching and applying to several other specialists. Unfortunately, our wait in Ontario is anywhere from 9 months to 2 years to see one of these excision specialists just for a consult. I chose to investigate my options in the USA. I came across Dr. Ghomi’s website after seeing many positive reviews in an online Endo support group. From our first consult, to my 11th week post surgery, I cannot tell you how pleased and grateful we are that I found him!!! He is such an amazing surgeon, and one whom you can feel comfortable with from the moment you meet him. He is at the top of his field, and so knowledgeable and this allowed us to put our faith in his hands for my care. My care in both his office and at St. Joseph’s was nothing less than outstanding!! The portal system was amazing to reach out to him or his nursing staff before surgery…..I had copious amounts of questions that he addressed efficiently, and put my mind at ease. The day of surgery, I was so nervous and I absolutely loved the staff who made us feel so comfortable and laugh the nerves away. I have never experienced that level of care here. My husband and I were not left alone for more than ten minutes in pre-op!! Nurses were keeping me comfortable, warm and in good spirits and I was so grateful. Dr. Ghomi and his anesthesiologist both came to speak with us prior to surgery and answered all of our concerns. I honestly cannot say enough about my care with Dr. Ghomi and his team. My post-op has been well guided by his care as well and to have a surgeon personally call you at home speaks volumes. I highly recommend Dr. Ghomi for any pelvic surgery needs! Thank you so much for taking such good care of me and for allowing me to get my life back on track!!

I have suffered from horrible endometriosis pains from the age of 13, I had my first child at age 30, and after childbirth my endometriosis got increasingly worse. I saw about four different obgyn’s who prescribed hormones, progesterone, and Orylissa. Which I personally felt only made things worse, I was kind of at the end of my options when I happened to find Dr Ghomi’s website. I read all of his amazing reviews, saw him in November 2019, and to my surprise he immediately agreed with my endometriosis diagnose. I didn’t have to convince him like I had with previous doctors, we scheduled my robotic endometriosis surgery to have to endometrial tissue removed for January 27th 2020 (yesterday 😉 I like most women, was nervous for the surgery but from the second I arrived at the hospital, the AMAZING surgical staff at St Joseph’s immediately put me at ease. I can not say enough positive things about the angels that work there, and they way the talked about Dr Ghomi and his expertise I truly could tell what a god send he is. Even Dr Ghomi’s office staff was so kind and professional. His nurse, Mary Ellen truly helped my pre surgery nerves and made me feel so much better about the million questions I had. I am not even 12 hours out post-op and I can ALREADY feel a difference from my usual endometriosis pains and the low back pain I’ve suffered for the better part of my life. I have minimal incision pains, I haven’t even had to take the prescribed pain meds yet because I truly believe Dr Ghomi did just a wonderful job with the surgery. He is a master in his field, and I would recommend him to anyone suffering from endometriosis. He understands the severity of it and truly is a miracle worker! Next step, recovery and on to that second child I’ve desperately have been wanting! Which I have no doubt, thanks to Dr Ghomi I will be able to convince 😉 Thank you again, Dr Ghomi, Sisters hospital staff and everyone involved in my surgery! I am so truly grateful!

I had a tubal reversal surgery with Dr. Ghomi on 3/12/18. My tubal ligation was done poorly so my left tube was unrepairable and my right was fairly short. I have not achieved a pregnancy but I am so thankful that my right tube was able to be repaired. I have had two HSG’s and a laparoscopic surgery to remove my unrepaired left tube and every time my right tube is open and flowing great. During my laparoscopic surgery my obgyn said my tube looks absolutely wonderful! I am hoping that someday I can share the news that I was able to get pregnant, still holding out some hope even though I am nearing 39 now. My egg reserve is still excellent so I am hoping! My experience was such a good one I recommend Dr. Ghomi often!

Yes, what a wonderful surgeon. I had surgery for a prolapsed bladder on June 24, 2019 and he repaired my problem with great concern and I felt very comfortable with him and staff . All my questions were answered prior to surgery. I truly wished I had this done ten years ago, because I feel so much better without this annoying problem . An annoying problem to you can be fixed by him. 100% satisfied.

I had a robotic hysterectomy on 4/22/19 by Dr. Ghomi. I was referred by my doctor who felt I would benefit from a robotic procedure and I am very happy that I made the 75 mile trip to see him. From the time of my initial consultation, I couldn’t have been more pleased. He and his staff, both in the office and at the hospital, were very caring and compassionate. He is very easy to talk to and really listens to your questions and concerns. It made me very comfortable making the decision to have him do my surgery. I am very happy with the results of my surgery and am feeling better than I have in a long time. We are very fortunate to have someone with his level of skill in our area. I highly recommend him!

I had my excision laparoscopy for endometriosis on 7/17/19 by Dr. Ghomi. I was very nervous going into surgery, but everyone, including Dr. Ghomi, the anesthesiologist, and all the nurses, were really kind and compassionate the entire time. I would recommend Dr. Ghomi to anyone considering gynecological surgery. He really is an expert at what he does.

I recently had surgery with Dr. Ghomi on April 24th. I am now 10 weeks post surgery and I couldn’t be more pleased. I had pelvic organ prolapse and was very afraid to have surgery, so had put it off for years because of my fear, and developed stress urinary incontinence along with several other issues. Having the DaVinci robotic surgery was the right decision and I’m so happy I chose Dr. Ghomi to do it. I had an incidental finding of endometrial cancer and he was able to remove it all. I had very little pain after the surgery and have had no stress urinary continence at all since surgery. Dr. Ghomi and his staff are extremely kind, caring, and compassionate. I have worked for many doctors and in many doctors’ offices, and Dr. Ghomi and his staff are by far the most professional and experienced team I have had the pleasure of meeting.

Dr. Ghomi is wonderful! I suffered for two years with bleeding from vaginal mesh erosion. Most doctors don’t remove vaginal mesh, but they will put it in. I could not find a doctor in Western New York to help my mesh erosion. Finally, I found Dr. Ghomi. I called his office and found that he could remove vaginal mesh. My own doctor did not know what to do. She told me after an unsuccessful repair surgery that there was nothing else to do. BLeeding for 2 yrs.! Dr. GHOMI IS THE GREATEST DOCTOR! HE REMOVED MY MESH! HE IS EXTREMELY HONEST, VERY KIND AND A VERY GREAT DOCTOR! YOU DONT NEED TO TRAVEL FAR OR JUST LIVE WITH YOUR MESH EROSION PROBLEM! DR GHOMI CAN FIX ANYTHING! DR. GHOMI IS THE BEST DOCTOR AND HE IS RIGHT IN BUFFALO NY! Posted on HealthGrades.com Apr 26, 2019

He performed a tubal reversal on me after having my tube clamped for 15 years. (I only have one due to a previous tubal pregnancy) Dr. Ghomi and his staff are great! I drove 5 hours to have the surgery done because he does the surgery at a fraction of what every other place charges. I got pregnant 4 months after my reversal with identical twins but sadly lost them at 9 weeks. I did get pregnant again and my daughter just turned 1 month old yesterday. If you are looking for a tubal reversal this is the doctor to use. You will be more than happy with the outcome and with your overall experience with him and his staff. Thank you Dr. Ghomi!! I wouldn’t have my little angel if it wasn’t for you.

I had my laproscopic surgery on Wednesday with Dr. Ghomi in Buffalo NY. From the first phone call I could tell that his office is exceptional. I live in Pittsburgh so the secretary and nurse spent time on the phone with me answering questions and reassuring me. When I got to the appointment I got validation for the first time in my life that my pain was real. It is obvious that Dr. Ghomi and his whole staff really care about people. They all really listened and went above and beyond to help me. I was able to get all the testing I needed right there. The day of my surgery we had very friendly and light-hearted experiences with everyone, which really helped ease any tension. Every care was taken to maintain a level of dignity despite the nature of the surgery. It was obvious that Dr. Ghomi has earned the respect of everyone he works with. Post op I have much less pain than I have expected. I am looking forward to my follow-up to thank him again in person.

Dr. Ghomi & his nurse Mary Ellen are PHENOMENAL! I was suffering from bad periods & pelvic pain since I was 10. I was told I just had bad periods & to deal with it. I had numerous colonoscopies, seen every specialist imaginable. I was even told that I should consider therapy…basically I was making my symptoms up. I asked 4 doctors if it could possibly maybe endometriosis. I took it upon myself to make an appointment with Dr.Ghomi. I am so happy that I did, for the first time I finally felt like someone believed me & truly wanted to help me. Turns out I had an endo in 3 different locations & that in fact there was quite a bit to cause all of my symptoms. Dr.Ghomi has been very thorough since my very first consultation. He is patient, kind, & truly enjoys helping his patients. MaryEllen also has been a big help & very supportive from day 1. They are amazing team! I can’t thank Dr.Ghomi enough! I am a nurse & will make sure I refer all those who suffer from endo to him as well. Too many doctor’s dismiss & downplay this horrendous condition!

I had been having problems with my period for years- from severe cramps to it lasting over 50 days in a row! I kept getting the run around from different doctors until my OBGYN recommended Dr. Ghomi. From that first phone call it was professional and friendly to coming up to their office which is a super friendly environment to the laughs with his nurse Mary Ellen and then meeting Dr. Ghomi.. I was nervous he would think it was nonsense for me to be there but he understood my concerns, took them seriously and we discussed surgery options. On November 19th I had the DaVinci hysterectomy and kept my ovaries since I’m so young (33). The hospital where I had the surgery done is absolutely gorgeous and the whole surgical team was friendly and attentive- answered all my nervous questions. The surgery went flawlessly and my recovery…. the same! Flawless. I was barely in any pain besides some aching- and I was walking around and eating pretty normally day 2-3! I am already feeling so much better and I have Dr. Ghomi to thank. He took me serious and I felt like he made me a priority which felt good. The friendless of everyone made it that much better too. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ghomi to anyone out there looking to get answers.

Like so many other patients of Dr Ghomi’s, I found him to be incredibly compassionate and professional. From the moment I visited his office, his staff was kind and thoughtful. I am now one month post op robotic hysterectomy and healing quickly. I couldn’t be more pleased with how this entire process went. Dr Ghomi has been incredible and I highly recommend him to anyone considering this type of surgery. I will be forever grateful to Dr Ghomi. This surgery has changed my life 100% for the better.

I was referred to Dr. Ghomi by my gyno as she felt my case was too complex. After, almost 15yrs fighting constant pain and feeling as though no one was listening I finally feel my voice was heard. My current gyno and Dr. Ghomi worked together in getting all of my information together so he was able to have a clear picture of what I’ve been dealing with. From the minute I stepped into his office the front desk, nurses, and Dr. Ghomi listened, they were compassionate and really cared about making me feel better. I finally have a diagnosis for my symptoms! I will be having surgery with Dr. Ghomi next month and I am thrilled!! He is a wonderful Doctor and a compassionate person who makes you feel like a person with an issue not some crazy thing. I couldn’t be happier having been sent to his office. little over a month away from surgery and I am finally at peace knowing there is an end in sight!

I saw Dr. Ghomi after a year of chronic pelvic pain and numerous tests and doctors with no results. As soon as I arrived, I felt as if the staff listened and asked more questions than I even thought mattered…but were important! Dr. Ghomi spent time with me, was thorough, understanding, and compassionate. And most importantly he had a plan! I now have a diagnosis and a plan for treatment and could not be more relieved. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ghomi and his staff. THANK YOU!!!

Long story short, my spouse had suffered from chronic endometriosis for really a long long time. Periods were so painful…excruciatingly painful…I could literally feel it…but hapless. That’s why we were not able to have a baby. Ultrasound gave us unconfirmed hope that everything was fine with no expected result. My spouse had had multiple knives run on her body so we were looking for an alternative, that would give her less, really less pain and expected result. Our quest became a reality when Dr. Armando Arroyo referred us to a well known robotic surgeon, Dr. Ali Ghomi in Buffalo, NY. Of so many hats Dr. Ghomi wears we want to emphasize on what he helped us with. He removed her endometriosis by means of ROBOTIC SURGERY, a non-invasive surgery (aka da Vinci surgery!) that bore a couple of holes in the site and removed the culprits in Nov 2016. Fast forward, her August of 2017 blood work confirmed she had conceived. Today, we have been blessed with an angel daughter, our life looks so meaningful only because of Dr. Ghomi who expertly carried out robotic surgery, he even successfully overcame an unexpected hurdle in the course of this surgery. His surgical team is awesome, and inpatient providers did a commendable job by providing better care that goes a long way. How can we forget his angelic nurse Mary? His line, “Let me give you back your life” was so magically inspiring that gave us full hope and confidence in life. Looking back we feel we made the right decision, and God knows why! We are very indebted so we sincerely thank you Dr. Ghomi for your blessings and your entire team of substance for excellent care. Matter of fact, we can speak endlessly about Dr. Ghomi and his team and more is simply less. Hats off!

Had my tubal reversal in March 22nd 2017! Now we are 32 weeks pregnant with our little boy who is due in 8 weeks. He is prefect and growing! Wouldn’t have been possible with our Dr Ghomi and his staff!!! Thank you guys!

I had my tubes tied in 2002, and Dr. Ghomi did my reversal in April of 2016, the day I turned 41! It took 18 months, but we are finally pregnant! His staff is absolutely wonderful and I couldn’t ask for a nicer doctor! I will recommend him until the day I die. He helped us conceive our miracle baby ❤️

My colpopexy and complete hysterectomy were done a week ago today, and the quality of my care has been excellent from the first office visit. The nursing and office staff have been kind and helpful as has Dr. Ghomi. They have gone above and beyond to meet my individual needs. My husband and our daughter were pleased with the time Dr. Ghomi spent with them explaining the surgery he had just completed. I also want to commend the staff of the ambulatory surgical unit on the St Joseph campus where I received excellent care.

In September, 2017 I had surgical removal of both tubes and ovaries due to chronic large cysts (uterus already previously removed). My complicated medical / surgical history made me a very high risk surgical candidate, my regular OB GYN referred me to Dr. Ghomi. My initial surgical consult was placed on hold to “watch and wait” with a follow up ultrasound to monitor growth. While I appreciate the conservative approach, we both knew surgery was inevitable. Once we decided to move forward with surgery Dr. Ghomi was very candid about the possible outcomes for my case expressing the difficulty and uncertainty of what he will find. He allowed time for questions and I felt prepared for the date. The earliest surgery scheduled was over two months away. While waiting for my surgery date, my symptoms worsened. I called to see if there was a closer date I could have and Mary Ellen (love her) returned my call with a new date for a month earlier than the last. The entire process from pre op-instructions to surgery was effortless. Any questions / concerns I had were promptly addressed through the portal or a return call from Mary Ellen. Post-op discomfort was next to nothing. I returned home with pain medication and only used it for one dose. Motrin was enough to remain comfortable. I was closed with glue and not stitches / staples which was also really convenient. Two weeks later the bloating was gone and other than having surgical menopause, I feel great! The post op appt. was extremely informative. Dr. G even allowed me to see pictures of what was done. All my questions were answered and he allowed for the time needed. I never felt like he had one hand on the door. As a patient with a chronic condition, I have my share of Doctors. Dr. Ghomi is the kind you want. Lastly, recognition must be made to Mary Ellen, Dr. Ghomi’s nurse. Mary Ellen will brighten your day and is the true right hand for the Dr. All to often we sing the praise of only the doctor but without Mary Ellen and the rest of the staff at Piver, he would never be able to tend to so many. Blessings to them all!

I wish I could leave two reviews – one for the amazing surgical care provided, and one for his office nursing staff. Dr. Ghomi provided great surgical care. During the initial visit, he was distant and clinical and his nursing staff saved the day. Surgical care was professional, and his demeanor was kind. Aftercare, he was kind and answered all questions. However, the problem came when I would call the office, as I was instructed to do, with questions/concerns. While I understand his staff is busy keeping up with his schedule, I had calls/messages not returned for over a week or more (one message was never returned) and rude manner by the nurse when calls were returned. I was left feeling belittled and chided for calling. I hold Dr. Ghomi in high regard and would recommend him, but not his staff.
Response:
Thank you for posting your testimonial. I am pleased you had a good surgical outcome. My staff and I take patient care, both in surgery and in office, very seriously. I am very sorry your calls were not returned in a timely manner and you felt you were not treated in the most professional manner on the phone. We are not perfect but we continually strive for perfection. It is exceptionally rare when we don’t meet a patient’s expectations, in which case we will re-evaluate our approach to improve patient care. I am extremely fortunate to be working with the office nurses who are the most dedicated and caring individuals I have ever known—and I have worked with countless number of nurses through out my career. They work extremely hard behind the scenes to attend to pre-surgical and post-surgical needs of the patients. At times they may have to prioritize returning phone calls based on the degree of urgency, which might have been in your case. However, it is unacceptable to us when a patient feels the way you did. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly with any unaddressed concerns. Sincerely, Ali Ghomi, M.D.

I had a tubal ligation in may 2003. I went to Dr. Ghomi in April 2016 for a tubal reversal and I was pregnant on my first cycle. I expected it to take much longer, but I was very happy when it was quick. My little girl is 4 months old already and she is the joy of my life.

I had my tubal reversal done by Dr.Ghomi in August of 2016. Unfortunately my operative report from my ligation was incorrect and one of my tubes was cut very short. Due to that, he was only able to repair my left tube. However, I was confident in his skills as a surgeon and knew I’d conceive with my one tube. Four cycles later, I got my first positive but it ended in a chemical pregnancy. Just knowing I could get pregnant kept me positive and now I am pregnant again and everything is looking good so far! Dr.Ghomi and his team were great. I highly recommend!

I want to Thank Dr. Ghomi for his outstanding work as a professional Dr and surgeon! His nurse Mary Ellen and the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital was five star! I had an extremly large uterine fibroid that was prolapsed into my cervix. I saw two other Drs. and I didn’t feel comfortable with the options they gave me. When I met Dr. Ghomi I knew he was the one for the job! Thank God my Dr. Tiffany Genewick suggested I go to Dr. Ghomi. I had a Da Vinci robotic myomectomy to remove my large fidroid. I am 48 and still wanted all my baby maker parts because you never know, and Dr. Ghomi was able get the job done! I had my surgery April 28, 2017 and I am home on the road to recovery! Thank you! I am so grateful for all you do!

After an extensive surgery for endometriosis & adenomyosis in May, I developed adhesions that were causing a lot of pain. Dr. Ghomi is one of few experts in endometriosis care and I felt confident that he knew the proper way to treat me. I’m one week post op and and feeling nothing but surgical pain. I feel confident that I can finally move forward from this long journey. I’m grateful that he is so close to home, and can help other women with these diseases properly.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ghomi’s since 2012. I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids and was given many options. After many discussions with Dr. Ghomi and his very caring staff treatment consisted of the Lupron injection and then to have my uterus and cervix removed via davinci robotic surgery. At no point did I ever feel i was not in the very best hands as possible. My surgery was April 14th 2017 and I am at home on the road to recovery. I was not referred to Dr. Ghomi by a doctor or another patient. I thank God for sending me to this gifted doctor. Him and the entire team at St. Joseph are something very special.

Kelly in Lewiston, NY – I highly recommend Dr. Ghomi and his entire surgical team! I had a uterine ablation about 10 years ago that left me with scar tissue. It became extremely painful 4-5 years after the ablation. A recent sonogram showed a thickening of the lining that was unexplainable. Dr. Ghomi recommended that I have a (da Vinci) hysterectomy. I am 51 yrs. old and never had any children nor was I ever pregnant. I was nervous about having surgery but I was more nervous getting cancer so I scheduled my surgery for February 3, 2017. I cannot say enough about Dr. Ghomi and the entire surgical team at St. Joseph’s hospital and everyone at his office at Sister’s Hospital. The kindness of him and his staff put me so much at ease the day of the surgery! My recovery was also a blessing…no complications, no bleeding, and no pain! I would have the surgery again in a heartbeat! Dr. Ghomi has a pleasant manner about him that puts you at ease immediately! I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Ghomi to anyone that needs surgery. He is truly the BEST!

I highly recommend Dr. Ghomi! I had my tubal reversal April 2014 and im on my second tubal reversal baby after 14 years of having them tied! I feel so blessed and happy! Dr. Ghomi was awesome! -Kelly in Buffalo, NY | Jan 11, 2017 Dr. Gohomi removed the Essure device for me because I was having problems with it. The day after the procedure, I felt better than I had in years. I highly recommend this doctor for his skill and knowledge. He is also personable with a great bedside manner. His compassion and willingness to help is apparent in his interactions. I don’t think that I have ever had more confidence in a doctor.

Tubual reversal Hi I had my tubual reversal in july of 2016…unfortunately Dr. Ghomi was only able to successful untie one tube because my other tube was previously cut to short. While at surgery the care was amazing. Dr. Ghomi and stay were very informative and on top of things. So i went home Dr. Ghomi advised me by body would compensate and do what it needed to do to concieve regardless of only having one tube. Well after only two cycyles on October 31st we found out we were pregnant!! Due 7/7/17 its a girl!!! I would highly recommend Dr. Ghomi and staff to anyone. KC

I had a complete hysterectomy on December 19th 2016, its been a little over 3 weeks post surgery and I feel great. I’ve had endometriosis for about 20 years which has made me feel sick, constant pain, sore, always something, and believe it or not I can finally say I feel great I wish I would have done this sooner. Dr. Ghomi was very kind and and thorough with what he was going to do before the surgery and his staff was amazing! I just want to say thank you and I look forward to my complete recovery! HP

I went to see Dr. Ghomi on the recommendation of my gynecologist. I had the Essure procedure a few years ago and began to have pain which included stabbing pain in the abdomen, back aches and horribly painful menstruation. I also had a difficult time sleeping at night. When I met with Dr. Ghomi, he suggested a salpingectomy. He could promise some pain relief with regard to the stabbing pain in the abdomen. He said that he could not promise that the procedure would help the painful periods. Well- the day after the procedure which included removal of Essure and fallopian tubes, I began to feel better already. Despite the three very small incisions, the pain was gone in my my abdomen. I have been sleeping well at night. I have had one period since the procedure and I didn’t even know it was coming. I did not have any pain or cramps! Dr. Ghomi has an excellent bedside manner. He is compassionate, confident, realistic and honest. I felt like he really cared and wanted to help me. In this day of rushed society, he treated me like his patient, not just another person passing through his doorway. His staff at the Piver Center are so pleasant and kind. They were even happy to hear that I was feeling better! The staff at St. Joseph Hospital took good care of me. I would do it again in a minute if I had to- Thank you, Dr. Ghomi! I am so grateful to you!

This doctor is really good! Another doctor told me to “just have a hysterectomy.” I didn’t want one. Dr. Ghomi, said I didn’t have to have one and gave me other options for my bleeding. He also gave me handouts for helping with bleeding and cramps–naturally! What doctor does that? A good one who isn’t promoting unnecessary surgery until one is ready.

I had my reversal surgery in April of 2014. I finally got my positive pregnancy test and will be expecting a baby 5/12/17. Thank you Dr Ghomi and your staff, it was been a long road but all worth it.

I am 44 years old and have had heavy vaginal bleeding and pain for a few years. I had the mirena ring in for over a year with little change. I also have Ulcerative Proctitis, diagnosed in 2007, which seemed to worsen during each menstrual cycle. 5 weeks ago I had a robotic lap hysterectomy. I am happy to report that I have no pelvic/abdominal pain!! And for the first time in years I have had ZERO bowel pain or bleeding!! Dr. Ghomi suspended some things in there that he saw were low and sagging during my proceedure and I am so grateful. He has changed my life and I cant thank him enough.

I had tubal reversal surgery by Dr. Ghomi on 4/4/16 and by 5/10/16 I was pregnant! Dr. Ghomi and his staff are wonderful and very very helpful.

“Lets get you your life back” were his exact words, and that’s exactly what he did for me! I’ve had Essure for almost 13 years… and it slowly poisoned my body. I became a whole new person… a stranger to my friends, family and most important of all, my own children. After my Hysterectomy via Da Vinci and BSO.. I feel so much better. I have much more energy and no more abdominal pain that sends me to the ER. I’m still on the road to recovery when it comes to all the symptoms Essure has given me, but now it’s much more possible to live my life and be the best friend, daughter, sister, wife and mother that I can be! Thank you Dr. Ghomi! #essureproblems #banbayer

I came to Dr. Ghomi after being told by my previous OB I didn’t have endometriosis. After he preformed my endometriosis surgery to complete satisfaction several years ago, I had a vaginal sling put in place (1 week ago) due to persistent urinary leakage. I have to admit, I told my family to be prepared, I expected to be very sore and did not expect the immediate results. I was so pleasantly surprised, within two days I felt great. I had limitations of course, but no visible cuts, minimal bleeding and very minor cramping. I would absolutely recommend this procedure to anyone that has bladder issues: sneezing, trampoline, running, etc. More importantly I strongly agree with the rest of the testimonials about Dr. Ghomi and staff; a truly exceptional bunch of professionals!!!Thank you.

I had my Tubal reversal August 2014 and we found on Feb 7th 2015 we were pregnant. We delivered a healthy baby girl in October. He and his staff were all so amazing during our visits and surgery! Highly Recommend.

OMGoodness, I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ghomi, his work, his staff, the Sisters Hospital and the care and treatment I got. I had a successful reversal and healed up in like 6 weeks. I was back in the gym the beginning of my second week. I had to take it easy but I was back at it. Now I am pregnant at the 2nd month after the tubal. I am so excited. This office did so much up and beyond the call of office duty for me and I will recommend them to everyone I know. I live in PA and it was so worth the drive!!!! Thank you all who was involved. God bless each and everyone of you.

It’s now day 13 following surgery at St Joseph and although I’m not quite 100% yet and not back to work, I expect to be very soon. My surgery took less than 3 hours as expected, I was in the recovery room for about 1.5 hours after I woke up, and that felt just like waking up after a nap. I took the prescription pain medication only for two days and probably didn’t even need that because acetaminophen did the trick, and I even stopped that 7 days after surgery. I have 4 tiny little 1/2 inch slits in my belly that are healing nicely. As soon as the current slight discomfort completely goes away I will be better than before the surgery, so if you are worried about robotic surgery – don’t be. Just do it.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr Ghomi and his friendly and comforting staff. My gyno sent me to Dr after we had tried a dnc and pills to stop 2 months of bleeding and nothing was working. A biopsy also indicated precancerous cells, so at 66 years of ago a hysterectomy was the solution. The robotic surgery at St Joes was so fast and so easy and everyone at St Joes was fabulous also Dr Ghomi did such a clean thorough surgery that I went home within 4 hours of the surgery and recovery was relatively easy. Pain was so minimal that after 2 to 3 days I didn’t need any pain pills. I was up and walking and slowly totally functioning right after the surgery with NO more blood. The only discomfort I had was lower abdominal pressure like gas buildup which slowly decreased each day to nothing within the week. I would recommend this robotic surgery and Dr Ghomi and his staff to everyone who needs a hysterectomy. It was quick and recovery was easy and fast and my threat of cancer is gone. Thank you Dr Ghomi….

Dr. Ghomi is awesome!!!! I had my tubal reversal on Dec. 9th and it couldn’t have gone smoother. I can’t believe I’m already pregnant and it’s only Febuary!!!!!! Dr. Ghomi and his staff are very caring and thorough. Thank you Dr. Ghomi 🙂

After 2 C-Sections, I had severe abdominal adhesions with both my uterus and bladder adhered to my abdominal wall, as well as adenomyosis. I had been told by at least a half dozen doctors over the years that I should have a hysterectomy but was absolutely scared to death. I kept thinking that once I went into menopause, my chronic pain and heavy bleeding would stop. When menopause hit, the bleeding stopped but the pain did not. I had a female OB/GYN who had a hysterectomy performed by Dr. Ghomi and told me that he was the absolute best surgeon for someone with a more challenging case, such as myself. i consulted with Dr. Ghomi and decided to finally have a hysterectomy. Dr. Ghomi performed my hysterectomy at St. Joes on October 28, 2015 – I went home the same day with minimal pain. I am very happy I was able to trust Dr. Ghomi to perform this surgery and improve my quality of life – it was the best decision I could have made. Dr. Ghomi is the real deal – The work Dr. Ghomi and his staff do is unbelievable. I never thought I would be pain free and I can now say that I am. Thank you very much, Dr. Ghomi – you are an exemplary doctor and surgeon and you Improved my life.

I was originally scheduled to have an open hysterectomy, however due to pressure from a friend to get a second opinion, I visited Dr. Ghomi. Contrary to what I thought, he said I was a candidate for a robotic hysterectomy amidst the scar tissue issues, etc. I had my robotic surgery on Dec. 4th, and felt normal in 5 days. Granted there was internal recovery that was still happening, but I felt great. Having had 2 c-sections and a myomectomy, I was floored with how easy the recovery was. Thank you to Dr. Ghomi and all of his staff….I couldn’t be happier.

Dec 3rd, 2015 I cannot express how thankful I am to Dr. Ghomi and his staff for helping me have a successful tubal reversal! I was blessed with a baby boy and I am pregnant again! I highly recommended him to anyone! He was so respectful, knowledgeable, and understanding! Because of him, I am able to conceive again! Forever grateful! http://www.vitals.com/doctors/Dr_Ali_Ghomi/reviews#ixzz3vlPJAd8v

I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 1985. The physician at the time did lazer laporoscopy and said he removed some scar tissue but after I had children I would need a hysterectomy to make it stop growing. In 1995 ten years later, after having 2 beautiful boys, I had a partial hysterectomy. They left my ovaries. I had relief for several years. Last year I started to have severe pain minutes after I ate. I felt full after a couple bites of food. I was in constant pain. I was miserable. I lost 30 pounds. I was sent to gastroenterologist and put through many tests and exploratory surgery. They could not find anything. I began to think I was crazy. Finally, a friend suggested going to a gynecologist. I explained everything I had been going through to the gynecologist and she said I am sending you to Dr. Ali Ghomi, you need his help. I was put at ease as soon as Dr. Ghomi started talking to me. I started to cry in his office, instantly feeling that there is finally help. My surgery was 10/14/2015 and I have had absolutely no pain. I can eat with no pain. He had before and after pictures that shodwed me how bad the endometriosis was inside. He cleaned everything up. I didn’t know it could continue to grow even though my uterus was taken out in 1995. He removed my ovaries and removed all the scar tissue that was attached to my intestines bladder vagina and rectum. I still have a couple more weeks of recovery but I am confident that Dr. Ghomi was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Let me begin by saying that many have said Dr. Ghomi has changed their lives, and I was pretty skeptical after seeking opinions from 6 other doctors in the area, but in the end, what everyone says is true. Dr. Ghomi saves lives. He has saved mine, at a time I felt I was a hopeless case. I was diagnosed at 25 with PCOS, PMDD, and endometriosis. I had a myomectomy, which was a full open incision at 25, a bi-lateral ovarian wedge resection done robotically at 27, several endometrial and cervical biopsies, and a D&C at 31. After seeing more doctors offices and hospitals than I could even stand, I found Dr. Ghomi. I went into the appointment expeting to hear that he couldnt help me, as all those before him had done. His nurse, whose name slips my mind, was so pleasent and sweet and so full of knowledge. Dr. Ghomi came in and we went through all my symptoms – etreme pelvic pain, exhaustion, inability to walk long distances, severe back pain, excessive weight gain, pain with bowel movements, bladder spasms and pain. I told him that I couldnt think anymore. My brain was tired,my body hurt, and I felt as though maybe I was just crazy. He looked at my chart, then looked at me and said – if all of this is acurate- you are not crazy. This is real. We went over my options and decided to do a full hysterectomy. He and his staff spent time discussing what that meant for my life, having had 0 pregnacies to date. But, I knew this was right for me. Dr. Ghomi performed a robotic assisted full hysterectomy on me on September 18, 2015 at Sisters Hospital, St. Joseph’s Campus. Diagnosis: stage 4 endometriosis and a frozen pelvic. I came out with absolutely no damage to any of the organs he worked on. My pain was well managed by the nurses throughout the night. I was discharged the next morning. September 18th will always be a special day for my husband and I. The day my life forever changed for the better. And all thanks to the man I met one time in my life before he operated and saved it. Not only will we cherish him but I will cherish this life he gave back to me. To anyone suffering, please, please, please, spend the time with Dr. Ghomi and his staff. If he says he can help you, he can. Current state: My symptoms are already better than they were before surgery. The pain is gone. I have sorness from the surgery itself but that will go away. I will begin hormone replacement and start my new life. ☺

I suffered from severe pelvic prolapse for years. I have always been a very active person, but by age 54 I was unable to be on my feet for an extend amount of time, run, or do any type of aerobic exercise without suffering the next day. I finally realized that I needed to do something when on a family vacation last summer I was unable to keep up with my 90 year old mother! My doctor referred me to Dr. Ghomi. I had Robotic Surgery on June 24, 2015 and it changed my life. The surgery was quick and almost painless. I arrived at St. Joe’s Hospital the day of the surgery at 10:30a.m. and I was home by 7:00 p.m. I experienced some minor pain and discomfort for a few days, but it was well worth it. Dr. Ghomi and his staff are tremendous. I can’t believe how great I feel. Thank you!

I had my uterus removed and a bladder sling put in place yesterday 8/17/15 at sisters hospital and already I feel better than I have in 15 years! Dr.Ghomi was my last resort in dealing with periods that had me feeling like I was in active labor the week before my period even began or having periods that were so heavy that I went through two boxes of Tampax pearl ultra’s each month and at least a box of Always infinities.in addition to dealing with that I was dealing with stress incontinence to the point where at the age of 40 I had to wear depends and frequent urination to the point where instead of sleeping I was getting up 4 times a night to use the bathroom. Not only does this medical doctor listen to his patients but he also cares about us so much that the Sunday prior to my surgery I called his answering service twice and instead of someone on call who didn’t know my medical history returning my calls,he personally called me within 5 minutes and talked me through the problems that I was having.Yesterday when I came in for surgery, this amazing saint took the time to talk to me,explain everything to me and please trust me you just don’t find medical doctors like this these days.Robotic surgery at sisters hospital went better than I expected. He removed my uterus and placed a bladder sling inside of me.Again from the moment I came into the hospital until the moment I left, people cared enough to not only make sure that I was taken care of but that my husband was kept in the loop about everything that was going on. While my recovery is still a work in progress, what I can say is that the pressure and cramping that im currently dealing with are nothing more than what feels like slight cramping and pressure.I have more energy right now than I have had in 15 years and while I was preparing for the worse I have to say that even the bleeding has all but stopped.I would not only recommend this surgery to others but I can’t stop singing the praises of Dr.Ghomi and his staff because they changed my life!

Dr. Ghomi was recommended by my GYN Dr. J Kholi. I had never experienced such professionalism or ease with another surgeon. I suffered for 20+ years with symptoms and complications from Polycystic Ovarian syndrome and Endometriosis. After years of heavy periods and pain, I had a partial surgery to remove my uterus and “most” of the ovaries, and one fallopian tube *(which I was told by the first doctor that EVERYTHING was removed except for a little piece of left ovary so I would not go through total menopause before the age of 35 yrs old. That would have been great if that was true.
Over the last 18 or so months, my pelvic/GYN pain peaked to a level I just could not take anymore. By the time I saw Dr. Ghomi I was in intolerable pain, my mood swings were extreme, crying and doubled up in pain from my abdomen to my pelvis. I was very aware that a lot my pain could be related to adhesions and scar tissue but what followed was Bowel movements one every 5 days, extremely weak urine stream, and extreme pain.
I first saw Dr. Ghomi and his team at the end of April. In reviewing my symptoms and history we scheduled my DaVinci robotic surgery for June 3rd at St. Joseph’s Hospital. I have been a nurse for and I have to say that Dr. Ghomi and his nurses *(I mainly had contact with Mary Ellen) were wonderful. They listened to me and treated me with the utmost professionalism and compassion. My stay at St. Joe’s was only overnight, because of my slow recovery time from anesthesia *(nausea and difficulty to arouse afterwards). My expected recovery path was on track. Pain, fatigue, nausea *(related to the pain meds), and lack of appetite for a couple of weeks is Normal and to be expected. Dr. Ghomi came to see me before my discharge from the hospital and talked about the challenges faced by him and the surgery. I had a LOT of scar tissue and adhesions, Endometriosis for many years but he did the best job he could have done and exceeded my expectations. My biggest complication after surgery was the development of a wound infection, about 16 days after the initial surgery. I was re-admitted for 24 hours where a PIC line was inserted and I went home with IV antibiotics for a ten day course. I was told by the team that expected recovery and return to work would be around six weeks. It was exactly that. Even with the wound infection, I overcame that and was back to work at my Nursing job July 15th.
I would absolutely recommend not only Robotic GYN surgery but more importantly Dr. Ghomi and the the Women’s Health team. JM

I have had 10 surgeries since 2001 because of Fibroid’s, Endometriosis, Tumors, Cysts and an abundance amount of scar tissue. Then in November of 2014 my GYN referred me to Dr. Ghomi and I was so tired of surgeries and so many different doctors and surgeons, BUT when I met Dr. Ghomi I felt PEACE and EMPATHY! Dr. Ghomi stated he will do the last surgery (#11) in January of 2015 and he promised me that I will feel totally different and feel like a new woman. I didn’t believe him at all, but YES a few weeks after the healing process, I FELT GREAT! And today July 23, 2015 I FEEL SOOO GOOD!! It was like God’s Mercy was laid on me & I could Live again. I have never felt this good in a Very Long time!! I haven’t taken any pain pills or any over the counter drugs for pain since the healing process in January/February of this year.
THANK YOU DR. GHOMI THANK YOU!! I can live with out pain and I can do so many things that I could not do in the past! I am so blessed to have encountered such an AMAZING Man, Doctor/Surgeon.
May God continue to bless and guide your hands while you do the work that you do.LOVE:PEACE:THANKYOU!!!!!

I have suffered from excruciating periods, and cysts on my ovaries for years! I was in and out of the ER, and doctors offices multiple times with no relief given. It wasn’t until I was referred by my obgyn to Dr Ghomi that a solution was in sight! In the beginning of April 2015 I met with Dr Ghomi and we both decided that it was time to have a Robotic Hysterectomy. Dr Ghomi and his nurses were ready and willing to answer all of my questions! On May 6th 2015 I went to St Joseph’s hospital for my surgery. My husband was able to wait with me until I went in for the surgery. When the surgery was complete Dr Ghomi made sure to go out and explain how the surgery went and what could be expected. I had to stay over night due to the amount of pain I was in. The first week was the worst! You feel a ton of pressure and pain in the incision sight. After that I started feeling better and better every day! I did experience fatigue for about a month! I am able to return to work on June 1st. Overall I would do it again in a second! And would recomend this to any friend or family experiencing pelvic issues! Thank you Dr Ghomi!!!
Jun 16, 2015I was diagnosed with endometriosis at age 22. I was having severe pelvic pain, nausea, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, and lower back pain. It was 8 months and 6 doctors later that I met Dr. Ghomi. I was referred to him by my gynecologist. I had a laparoscopy on 9/18/13 via the robotic surgery at St. Joe’s Hospital. I was in and out the same day and my recovery time was about two weeks. The first few days were rough. My family had to help me with getting up and down. After the two weeks I felt great. Unfortunately for me, my pains came back three months later. By November 2014, they were worse and I was missing work. I made an appt to see Dr. Ghomi on December 2, 2014. We decided to try Lupron Depot Injections. I had my first injection on December 16, 2014 and my second injection on March 17, 2015. For me, they didn’t work. I was in pain everyday still and my periods were worse than before. I’ve had bad periods since I was 15 and these felt nothing like those. I had my follow-up appt on May 19, 2015 and there Dr. Ghomi and I decided that I needed a hysterectomy. I was scheduled for June 1, 2015 – four days before my 24th birthday. I had the robotic surgery again, but this time at Sisters Hospital. I was in and out the same day. I will say that trying to walk after getting out of surgery is quite difficult. You will need help. The first few days were rough like the laparoscopy, but this time getting up and down was even more difficult. You feel like a turtle on your back. By the end of the first week, I was able to get up on my own. Being on my feet too much causes some pain and the incisions would hurt a little bit if I moved wrong, but that’s about it. The nurse recommended I get a stool softener and gas x, which I do recommended as well. I did have some spotting the first few days and I couldn’t lift anything. It’s now 6/16/15, I had my follow-up appt and I feel well enough to go back to work on 6/22/15. So for me, that’s 3 weeks of recovery but I will be on light duty at work. I can’t lift anything over 10 lbs. The robotic surgery is great and I do recommend it to anyone who gets the option of it.

I have adenomyosis and endometriosis and was passed off for years but * 8 * doctors.. UNTIL I found Dr. Ghomi. . He gave me a hysterectomy and my life back. He also excised the endometriosis. Even with unforseen complications, Dr Ghomi and staff have been 100% supportive and caring. He also sent me for Pelvic PT, which is also changing my life for the better. I wish I would have found him years ago. After 29 years of suffering, I am now pelvic pain free. I would recommend Dr. Ghomi to those especially suffering from possible endometriosis or suspect it. I came to Dr. Ghomi with chronic back/hip/pelvic pain from my Essure birth control. He genuinely listened to my concerns, listened to what I needed/ expected, and gave me his professional opinion. After consideration of his opinion, I went ahead with the da Vinci subtotal hysterectomy.
My surgery was early in the morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and I went home the same day (about 6 hours), I experienced only a few days of discomfort and pain- about 2 weeks before I could wear real pants, but at 4 weeks post-op, I feel like a new person.
Dr. Ghomi is a highly skilled surgeon, whom is compassionate and understanding. He was highly recommended to me by my GYN. I will tell anyone that is facing this type of surgery, Dr. Ghomi is the surgeon you need!

My second experience with Dr Ghomi was just as great as my first. Having had 5 children it takes a toll on your body. I was experiencing “leaking” when I would laugh, sneeze, cough or life heavy objects if my bladder was not emptied prior. I went for my annual check-up with my regular ob/gyn and was once again referred to Dr Ghomi. I thought for sure it was my bladder but after being examined it was determined it was the valve, not the bladder. I was set up for a pre-procedure done right in the office to see what was the best sling for my condition. During this pre-procedure 2 catheters were inserted, and it was a little uncomfortable but nothing to be concerned with. It was all hooked up to a computer, then they filled my bladder with saline, I had to cough a few times and the catheters were removed and I was then able to empty my bladder. Dr Ghomi then came in to explain what he would be doing and asked if I had any questions. I wanted to know when it would start working and my restrictions. He said it would work immediately, I would be limited on what I would be able to lift for about one month so it has time to heal, I would follow up with him in 2 weeks and I took a week off from work. My surgery date had been set up at my first appointment, I was scheduled at St Joe’s hospital for 6/18/14, it was about a 20 minute procedure and I was home early afternoon. There was a little discomfort in my upper thigh from being in the stirrups (and me not very flexible). I did have to wear a pad for the first day because of spotting, there was blood for the first 2 times that I urinated. And of course I had to see if I was able to start urinating, stop, then start again and I was. That may not seem like a big thing to some people but I have not been able to do that for about 20 years. I never knew I didn’t have to live life crossing my legs when I coughed or sneezed. Now I know and what a beautiful thing it is. Once again, thank you Dr Ghomi.

I had a very large cyst in my uterus. I was referred to Dr Ghomi from my regular ob/gyn. I met with Dr Ghomi before having the surgery and we decided what would be the best way to go about the hysterectomy. I opted for the robotic after doing research on-line, and meeting Dr Ghomi in person. I was nervous meeting a new doctor for the first time but those jitters were gone as soon as I entered the waiting room. The staff is top notch and makes it personal and comforting from check in to check out. I was most impressed with Dr Ghomi himself, not only is he an excellent doctor, but a down to earth person with out of this world bedside manor. That is extremely rare. And I have seen many doctors in the past, being 45 years old with 5 children, but this being my first “real” surgery. I had my surgery on 8/29/12 at Sisters Hospital. It was an out- patient procedure. I had 5 very small incisions across my abdomen. There was some discomfort after but nothing compared to what I expected. I was not working at the time so I don’t recall what the down time would have been. I was called the following day to see how things were going, and I had my follow-up with Dr Ghomi. I would most definitely recommend this to a friend/relative or anyone who is in need of a hysterectomy or any other procedure that offers the robotic as an option. I would love to be able to talk to those who are in doubt, but all you have to do is Google Dr Ghomi’s name and he speaks for himself. When you meet him for the first time you will then see the person behind the robot! C.A.N.

Severe endometriosis
Severe pelvic pain, severe swelling of my abdomen, tenderness to the touch.
Was referred to Dr. Ghomi by another doctor
Started seeing Dr Ghomi in 2010 for removal of endometriosis and have 4 robotic surgeries with him.
I was released that day from the hospital about an hour after waking up. Pain was handled well with pain killers that I only had to take for about 3 days. I was able to return to work in about 3 weeks but I do heavy lifting so I took a little more time off.
I would absolutely recommend robotic surgery to anyone, as well as Dr. Ghomi.

I had my surgery on 1/17/2014 at the St. Joseph Campus. I had previous surgery 8 years ago for a vaginal prolapse but the cystocele reappeared. My symptoms included urinary incontinence with coughing and exercising and sometimes standing from a sitting position. I was referred to Dr. Ghomi by my gynecologist who recommended robotic surgery. I met Dr.
Ghomi for my evaluation and I was immediately impressed. He is professional, an expert in the field of gynecological problems, and kind and compassionate. My experience at the SJC was outstanding. The OR and PACU staff are very compassionate and excel in quality care and safety. Before general anesthesia was administered the staff in the OR introduced themselves and reassured me. I was discharged from the Ambulatory Surgery Center the same day as my surgery. My post op pain was moderate the first 3-4 days. I took Lortab for the first 24 hours but changed to Ibuprofen as it was a better pain management medication for me. I was off Ibuprofen by day 5 post operatively. I was tired for the first week but on day 7 post operatively I was driving. The recovery time from Robotic Surgery is much quicker than traditional surgery with an abdominal incision. Dr. Ghomi and the clinical staff at the SJC are experts and outstanding clinicians. Thank you Dr. Ghomi for identifying and correcting my issues and thank you for you kindness and compassion. The surgery went well!!!! and recovery was a lot quicker.

Tests showed that the lining of my uterus was thickening. After two D & C ‘s my doctor recommended a hysterectomy. It was scheduled on December 18, 2013 at Sisters Hospital, St Joseph Campus . I was terrified, never having surgery before I wasn’t sure what to expect. Nurse Diane explain that the incisions were small and after the surgery I should relax, watch tv, during every commercial I should walk around the house and drink a lot of water. I walked into the hospital at 10 am and walk out about 5pm. To my surprise, I did feel good enough to watch tv and walk around the house. I never took any pain pills only some Ibuprofen. The 5th and 6th day after surgery I celebrated Christmas with friends and family. I did not drive or stay long, but felt good enough to go out. Two weeks after surgery I was by back to work. I would highly recommend Dr. Ghomi, his staff and the robotic hysterectomy procedure.

WJG – 39 year old female
Condition/diagnosis – Post Ablation Tubal Syndrome, Ovarian Cysts – DaVinci Hysterectomy
Urinary Incontinence – Bladder SlingSymptoms – Severe lower abdominal pain and cramping
Why you chose Dr Ghomi and robotic surgery?
I was sent to Dr. Ghomi by my OB/GYN in Jamestown, NYDate of surgery – 12/18/13
Hospital where surgery was performed – St. Josephs, Buffalo
How long you stayed in hospital – Checked in at 11:30am and released at 6:30pm
Please describe your recovery, pain level, complications, etc. Most patients are interested to know what to expect first few days, first and second week.
I was very nervous about my surgery. I have had numberous surgeries and abdominal surgeries are often the most uncomfortable. When I woke up in the recovery room I was only slightly uncomfortable, the pain was less than what I had been going through for the several months leading up to surgery. I would describe it as mild menstrual cramps. I was given pain meds and it eased considerably. Within about an hour I got up and went to the bathroom with assistance and sit up in chair. I had some mild nausea and a little more pain so I was given another pain pill. I also had some ginger ale and crackers. After resting for a little longer the nurse asked if I felt well enough to go home and I was released. I had an hour and a half ride home and was comfortable the whole way.
That night I was able to sleep on my side with no further discomfort. I did wake to take another pain pill but slept the rest of the time. The next day I was up and walking around, going up the stairs to go to the bathroom and eating light, I didn’t have much of an appetite and stayed to just bland foods. By day 3 I went out to visit family and did a quick trip to my work to visit co-workers.
Overall this surgery was amazing. The incisions are very small and did not cause any problems. There were 6 total that were closed with durabond. The pain was minimal and decreases everyday. I am now 2 weeks post op and feel good but still tire easily. The incisions have healed almost completely. I hope to return to work in a few more weeks.
Dr. Ghomi and his staff are wonderful and are very good at answering any questions or concerns that you may have. The staff at St. Josephs is top notch as well. I would highly recommend both medical facilities to anyone having gynecological issues in the area.
